Key Philosophies That Underpin The Program:
This tour will unquestionably challenge all the players in some way. For each, there was something they can take away from the tour and find improvement within themselves and their game. What is important with the reflection process for this tour, is the correct perception on how they went. The standard of cricket the opposition provided was very high at times, and competitive in all games.
Players play against talented players in English conditions which adds to the challenge. We also play against some Men teams which meant they had to compete against adults and not just schoolboys. What this means is it was going to be difficult to have a dominating effect in the better games, but it exposed the players to where they need to improve to succeed at these levels.
Touring Internationally gives a far broader experience than playing cricket locally, and playing a lot of cricket highlights other areas that impact performance that give players a better understanding of themselves, and what is required to be consistent.
This tour will also include a match with the prestigious Durban High School which has ex cricketers such as Barry Richards Lee Irvine, Dennis Gamsy, Hashim Amla, Lance Klusener to name a few.
